Hey software industry,
I am a little worried about your behavior recently. I have been noticing a trend of behavior and I am concerned that something is wrong. When we were both younger you were so excited about being a LAMP to the world. Recently though you have been talking about how developers love MEAN. You used to tell everyone they could always use more REST to build a fuller happier application. Now you HATEOAS when someone asks a simple question.
It's fine to be angry or sad. Those are just emotions and they don't make you a bad person. If something is wrong let's talk it out. We've done amazing work in less than optimal circumstances before and we still can. I am not saying you need to change who you are I am saying that together we can do better.
It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness
Chinese proverb (nice writeup on it here)
You're beautiful and amazing and full of potential. You can become anything you can imagine. Let's imagine brighter. I just want you to be HAPI.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Sincerely,
Frank
